Definition

カレイやヒラメなど、体が平たくて両目が同じ側にある海の魚を指します。フラウンダーやソール、ハリバットなども含まれます。

主に料理や生物学の場面で使われます。「カレイ」「ヒラメ」など複数の種類をまとめて指します。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
