繊維とは、植物や動物、または人工的に作られる細く長い糸状の構造です。食物中の消化を助ける成分も指します。

『繊維』は布や紙、食物繊維（dietary fibre）などに使われます。「糸」とは使い方が異なります。イギリス英語の綴りです。
