人や物事に起こる運命や結果を指し、しばしば超自然的な力によって決まると考えられます。

「運命」は文学や歴史、神話の中でよく使われる正式な表現です。日常会話ではあまり見かけません。「運命を決める」「運命で結ばれる」などの表現があります。
