ऐसी बातें जो किसी चीज़ को असल से बड़ा, अच्छा या बुरा दिखाती हैं। अक्सर जोर देने या कहानी को रोचक बनाने के लिए बोली जाती हैं।

अक्सर इसका भाव तटस्थ या नकारात्मक होता है—यानि बात पूरी तरह सच नहीं है। आमतौर पर 'बहुत बड़ी', 'हल्की', 'बेतुकी' जैसे शब्दों के साथ प्रयोग होता है। सीधी गलती या झूठ के लिए नहीं कहते।
