Definition

エッチングは、金属板に酸で模様を彫って紙に印刷する版画技法です。また、その技法で作られた作品も指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「エッチング」は美術や美術館で使われる専門用語で、「エングレービング」とは違います。「スケッチ」と混同しないようにしましょう。作品（a/an etching）や工程（etchingのprocess）どちらも指します。
