知識や知るという過程に関するもの。どのように知識を得たり、信念を正当化するかについて使われることが多い。

主に学術的・専門的な分野（哲学、言語学、心理学など）で使われます。例えば「epistemic justification」など。日常会話ではあまり使われません。

認識論者は**認識論的**な知識の問題を研究する。
