Definition

針と糸で布や服に模様や絵を縫い付けて飾ること。また、話に事実以上の詳しい内容を加えることも指す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に手芸として使い、話の内容を盛る時にも使う（“embroider a story”）。「布に刺繍する」「話を脚色する」などに使われる。
