제방이나 둑은 물을 막거나 도로나 철도를 지지하기 위해 흙, 돌, 콘크리트로 쌓아 올린 구조물입니다.

토목, 건설 또는 지리 용어로 자주 사용됨. '강 제방', '철도 제방' 등과 같이 씀. '댐'과 달리, 완전히 물을 막는 구조가 아님을 구분.
