처마

Definition

지붕의 아래쪽 부분으로, 벽보다 바깥으로 튀어나와 비로부터 건물을 보호하는 역할을 함.

항상 복수로 사용되며, 건축이나 집 구조 설명 시 자주 쓰임. '처마 밑에', '처마에 새가 둥지를 트다' 같은 표현이 흔함. '이브(전날)'와 혼동하지 않도록 주의.
