Definition

ほこりを拭き取るための布や道具。また、衣服をほこりから守るための軽い長い上着を指すこともある。

一般的には掃除用具や布を指します。「羽はたき」はよく使う表現です。歴史的には長い上着にも使われますが、普段は清掃道具の意味が主です。

We bought two new dusters for cleaning the shelves.

棚を掃除するために新しい**はたき**を2つ買いました。
