乾旱是指長時間幾乎沒有下雨的時期，造成水資源短缺，使植物、動物及人類生存困難。

多用於氣候與環境描述。單數指嚴重的乾旱，複數指多次或多區域的乾旱。常與“嚴重的”、“持續的”等詞搭配。並非描述短暫乾燥現象。
