Definition

무언가나 누군가를 힘으로 넘어뜨리거나, 음식이나 음료를 단번에 마시거나 먹는 것.

주로 비공식적인 상황에서 사용됨. 'downing a drink'는 단숨에 마시는 것, 'downing an opponent'는 상대를 쓰러뜨리는 것을 의미. 천천히 먹거나 마시는 의미로는 사용하지 않음.

He is downing his glass of water quickly.
