أن تفصل شيئًا إلى أجزاء أو تبقي أشخاصًا أو أشياء منفصلة عن بعضها البعض.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

غالبًا ما تُستخدم للفصل بين أشياء أو مجموعات أو أرقام ('divides into two parts', 'the river divides the city'). تعني أيضًا التسبب في الانقسام ('politics divides people'). 'Divides' فعل مضارع مفرد غائب.
