এটি খুবই আনুষ্ঠানিক ও সাহিত্যিক শব্দ, সাধারণ কথোপকথনে ব্যবহৃত হয় না। 'Destitute' 'poor' শব্দের চেয়ে বেশি তীব্র অর্থ প্রকাশ করে—মৌলিক প্রয়োজনেরও অভাব বোঝায়।
