किसी ऊँचे स्थान से नीचे जाना या उतरना। यह किसी परिवार या समूह से उत्पन्न होने का भी अर्थ दे सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'descend' 'go down' (नीचे जाना) से ज्यादा औपचारिक/साहित्यिक है। अक्सर लेखन, प्रकृति या भावनाओं के लिए—'descend the mountain', 'descend into silence'। लिफ्ट के लिए नहीं, यहाँ 'go down' या 'take the elevator' कहें।
