何かを大部分壊したり、大きく減少させたりすること。主に人や資源などに使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

元々は「10分の1を殺す」意味だが、今は大災害や戦争などによる大規模な被害で使われる。日常会話よりやや固い表現。単なる「損傷」より強い意味。
