Definition

牛や羊などの動物が、一度胃に入れた食べ物を口に戻してもう一度噛むときの、半分消化された食べ物のこと。

主に牛や羊などの反芻動物に対して使われ、日常会話ではあまり使われません。

Examples

Cows chew their cud to help digest food better.

牛は消化を助けるために**反芻物**を噛みます。
