群衆群がる (動詞)

Definition

多くの人が一カ所に集まっている状態。動詞としては、人が集まって狭くなる様子も指す。

日常的には名詞として使われることが多い。「a big crowd」「a crowd of fans」など。動詞の場合は「crowd around」「crowd into」「crowd the room」などで使い、人が密集している状況を表す。

A crowd waited outside the store.

店の外で**群衆**が待っていた。

The kids crowded around the puppy.

子供たちが子犬の周りに**群がった**。

The bus was full of crowds after school.

放課後、バスは**群衆**でいっぱいだった。

I don’t mind noise, but I hate being in a crowd.

騒音は平気だけど、**群衆**の中にいるのは嫌いだ。

People started to crowd around when they saw the accident.
