基準とは、物事を判断したり選んだりするときのよりどころとなる決まりや標準のことです。

主にフォーマルな場面や学術的な文章で使われます。複数形は「基準」もそのまま使われます。『選考基準』や『基準を満たす』などでよく使われます。
