伝令町の伝令

Definition

伝令とは、昔、町中でニュースや告知を人々に大声で伝える役目の人です。

現代ではあまり使われず、歴史的・物語的な場面で「町の伝令」などと登場します。「泣く人」という意味にはなりません。

The crier walked through the streets every morning.

**伝令**は毎朝通りを歩いていました。

町の**伝令**はニュースを知らせる前に鐘を鳴らします。
