他人の物などを強く欲しがること。多くの場合、うらやましい気持ちを含む。

日常的な「欲しい」とは異なり、道徳的・宗教的な文脈やネガティブな意味で使われることが多い。「欲しがる」「羨む」と混同しないよう注意。
