Definition

একটি খোলা জায়গা যা বাড়ি, রাজপ্রাসাদ বা কমপ্লেক্সের দেয়াল বা ভবন ঘিরে রাখে, সাধারণত বাইরে কিন্তু সম্পত্তির ভেতরে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Courtyard' বেশি মাত্রায় ঐতিহ্যবাহী বা ঐতিহাসিক স্থানগুলি বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, কিন্তু আধুনিক দালানেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'Yard' (যেখানে বেশি ঘাস বা বাগান থাকে) থেকে আলাদা।
