表面が内側に湾曲していること。お椀の内側のような形で、凸面の反対。

主に理科や幾何学で使われます。「concave mirror」は『凹面鏡』です。「convex（凸面）」と混同しないよう注意しましょう。日常よりもフォーマル・理科的表現です。
