Definition

‘Compounds’ বলতে এমন পদার্থ বোঝায় যা দুই বা তার বেশি মৌল একসাথে মিশে তৈরি হয়, কিংবা কোনো দেয়াল বা বেড়া দিয়ে ঘেরা বাড়ি ও জমির এলাকা।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

বিজ্ঞানে 'compounds' মানে নির্দিষ্ট রাসায়নিক গঠনের পদার্থ, যেমন পানি একটি যৌগ। চলিত ভাষায় 'compound' ব্যবহার হয় জমি বা বাড়ির ক্ষেত্রে, যেমন 'factory compound'। 'component' (উপাদান) বা 'composite' (মিশ্র বস্তু) এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
