同胞

Definition

自分と同じ国の出身である人たち、つまり同じ国民や市民のこと。

「同胞」はフォーマルまたは書き言葉でよく使われ、特に海外で自国出身者を指す時が多いです。日常会話ではあまり使いません。

Many compatriots attended the festival.

多くの**同胞**が祭りに参加した。
