常用作动词“commute”，也作名词“the commute”。常见搭配有“坐地铁/火车通勤”、“长距离通勤”。通常指上班/上学的固定往返，不用于休闲出行。不要与“travel”（出游）或“migrate”（迁居）混淆。正式、非正式场合都常用。
