कोड की किसी पंक्ति या हिस्से को टिप्पणी बना देना ताकि वह निष्क्रिय हो जाए लेकिन हटे नहीं। प्रोग्रामर इसका इस्तेमाल परीक्षण या समझाने के लिए करते हैं।

केवल प्रोग्रामिंग में प्रयोग होता है। 'comment out' मतलब उस कोड को निष्क्रिय करना (हटाए बिना)। केवल 'comment' (व्याख्या लिखना) से अलग है।
