近づく取り囲む

Definition

誰かや何かに近づき、ときに取り囲んだり捕らえたりすること。時や出来事が近づくこともある。

文学的・描写的な場面でよく使う。危険や集団が取り囲む状況（「オオカミが獲物に近づいた」など）に多い。日常会話ではあまり用いない。'close in on'も似た意味。

The hunters closed in upon the wounded animal.

猟師たちは傷ついた動物に**近づいた**。
