感情的に不安なときなどに、人や物に強くしがみつくこと。また、物が他のものにぴったりくっつくことも指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「clings」は、ただ軽く触れる時には使わず、しっかりと離れたくない気持ちや物理的にくっついているときなどに使われます。例:「clings to hope」「clings to her mother」など。
