怒りや怖さなどで手や歯をぎゅっと強く閉じること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に手やこぶし、歯に使われ、『clenches his fist』や『clenches her teeth』のように感情表現でよく使います。やさしく持つ時には使いません。『squeeze』や『grip』より硬い表現です。
