Definition

금속이나 그릇 등 단단한 물건들이 부딪혀 반복적으로 시끄러운 소리를 내는 것. 움직일 때 시끄럽게 나는 소리를 표현할 때도 쓴다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

주로 접시, 팬, 금속과 같은 물건들의 소리를 묘사할 때 쓴다. 실수로 내는 소리나 움직이는 물건에 자주 사용된다. 비유적으로는 거의 쓰지 않는다. 'clatters to the floor'와 같이 자주 나온다.
