城市是指人口眾多、規模較大、設施完善的重要城鎮，通常擁有自己的管理機構和多種服務。

“city” 用於描述比 “town”（小鎮）或 “village”（村莊）更大、更繁華的地方。通常指人口多、設施齊全的都市地區，可正式或非正式使用，不要和 “capital city”（首都）混淆。
