重要でないことについて、軽い気持ちで早口で絶えず話すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルで、どうでもいい内容をにぎやかに話す感じ。'chatter about the weather'（天気のことをぺちゃくちゃ話す）などがよく使われます。'discuss'や'debate'（深い話し合い）とは違うニュアンスです。
