Definition

カリオペは蒸気や圧縮空気で大きく明るい音を出す楽器で、サーカスや川船でよく使われます。また、ギリシャ神話の詩の女神の名前でもあります。

現代では主にサーカス音楽の楽器を指します。ギリシャ神話の女神の意味は稀です。楽器としては非常に大音量かつ明るい音色が特徴です。
