Genellikle günlük ve resmi olmayan konuşmada kullanılır. Etkinlik, toplantı gibi planların iptalinde yaygındır; ilişkiyi bitirmek veya nesneler için kullanılmaz. Örnek kullanımlar: 'call off the meeting', 'call off the search'.
