Definition

বোতাম হলো একটি ছোট বস্তু, যা চাপলে কোনো যন্ত্র বা ডিভাইস কাজ করে, অথবা পোশাক বন্ধ করতে ব্যবহৃত ছোট ফাস্টেনার।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

যন্ত্রে 'press a button', 'hit the button', 'push the wrong button' খুব সাধারণভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। পোশাকে 'শার্টের বোতাম লাগানো' বলতে 'do up/button up your shirt' বোঝায়। কাউকে ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে বিরক্ত করা বোঝাতে 'push someone's buttons' ব্যবহার হয়।

Examples

Press the red button to start the machine.

মেশিনটি চালু করতে লাল **বোতাম**টি চাপুন।

I lost a button from my coat.

আমার কোটে থেকে একটি **বোতাম** হারিয়ে গেছে।

This button opens the door.
