Usar algo (especialmente dinheiro ou recursos) muito rapidamente até terminar. Também pode significar literalmente perfurar com fogo ou calor.

Informal, usado principalmente em conversas. Mais comum com dinheiro ou recursos ('burn through cash'). Pode também ser literal (fogo faz um buraco). Não usado para uso lento. Não confundir com 'burn out' (ficar esgotado).
