La capacidad de un objeto para flotar en el agua u otro líquido; también se refiere a un sentimiento de alegría u optimismo.

Se usa mucho en ciencias (física, química), sobre todo con líquidos. Puede ser metafórico ('buoyancy emocional' para positividad). No confundir con 'buoy' (boya); 'buoyant' es el adjetivo.
