"break for" in Japanese

今していることを中断して別のことをする時や、急いでどこかに向かう時に使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「break for lunch」「break for coffee」のように名詞と一緒に使われます。急いでどこかへ向かう場合にも使います。単独で使うことはほとんどありません。

Examples

Let's break for lunch at noon.

正午に**昼休憩をしましょう**。

The class will break for a short break every hour.

授業は毎時間**短い休憩を取ります**。

They broke for coffee during the meeting.

彼らは会議中に**コーヒーブレイクを取りました**。

When the alarm rang, everyone broke for the exit.
