Sostener y mover algo, generalmente un arma, de manera dramática o amenazante. A veces se usa para llamar la atención con algo en la mano.

Se usa frecuentemente con armas (espadas, cuchillos), pero también con otros objetos que se agitan dramáticamente. Es más formal que 'agitar' y sugiere intención de intimidar. Se suele decir: 'blandiendo un [arma]'.
