メインの部分から枝のように分かれている状態。木や川の流れ、組織など複数の部分に分かれているものに使われます。

主に科学・技術・説明で使われ、実際の枝だけでなく川や血管、組織にも使います。人には通常使われません。「branched structure」などの表現もあります。
