主な道や話題から分かれて、別の方向に進むこと。道路や議論のトピックなど、物理的・抽象的な場合の両方に使われます。

道路や川、話題の分岐によく使います。人にはあまり直接使わず、物や概念に使います。「道が分岐する」「話が脱線する」などの場面で使われます。
