무엇이나 사람이 두 곳 또는 두 생각 사이를 반복해서 오가거나, 의견이나 위치가 계속 바뀌는 것을 말함.

주로 비공식적으로 쓰이며, 실제 움직임뿐만 아니라 생각, 의견, 메시지의 반복 변화에도 사용됨. 'bounce back'(회복하다)와는 구별됨.
