讓某人感到煩惱、打擾或擔心。也可以指花精力做某事（常用於否定或疑問句）。

在口語中常用，有“打擾”、“麻煩”之意。可用於對人（“Don’t bother me”）或對行動（“Don’t bother to help”）。常用於有禮地拒絕時（如“Don’t bother, 我自己來”）。與“disturb”不同，後者較正式且多指實際打擾。
