Definition

物や車などで出口をふさぎ、誰かや何かが外に出られないようにすること。美術では、大まかな形を先に描くことも意味する。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現。特に車が他の車を出られなくする場面でよく使う。美術では大まかに形を描くこと。'block off'（完全に閉鎖）や 'lock in'（閉じ込める）とは違うので注意。
