神や神聖な力に守りや幸運を願うこと。また、何かに特別な良さや承認をもたらす意味でも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

宗教的な場面でよく使われます（'God bless you'、'bless this food' など）。くしゃみの後に 'Bless you' と言う習慣もあります。'bless his heart' のような表現は暖かい印象や昔風の響きがあります。'praise'（賞賛する）と混同しないようにしましょう。
