銃声や爆発などの大きな音をまねた擬音語で、主にコミックや漫画などの書き文字として使われます。

会話ではほとんど使われず、主に漫画や遊び心のある文体で見られます。大文字（BLAM!）で表記されることが多いです。

Suddenly, there was a loud blam in the alley.

突然、路地で大きな**バン**という音がした。
