鳥が巣を作り、子育てをするための小さな箱状の建物。庭や木、柱などに設置されます。

日常会話や子どもの話題でよく使われます。「巣箱を作る」「巣箱を掛ける」「巣箱を飾る」などの表現が一般的です。ペット用の「鳥かご」とは違うので注意しましょう。
