ベーシストとは、バンドでベースギターやコントラバスを演奏し、主に低音のリズムやハーモニーを担当する音楽家です。

主にロックやポップ、ジャズバンドで使われる表現です。「リードベーシスト」「ジャズベーシスト」といった形で使われます。クラシックでは「コントラバス奏者」と区別されます。
