バンドのリーダーであり、特にジャズやポピュラー音楽などのグループをまとめて指導・指揮する人のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にジャズやポップスなどのバンドに使われ、オーケストラの場合は「指揮者」を使います。「有名なバンドリーダー」のような表現がよく使われます。バンドリーダーが楽器を弾いたり歌うことも多いです。
